Videos may contain unwanted segments or you may be interested in a particular scene, from a lengthy video. If you wish to cut out inappropriate scenes from a movie or extract the ones that you like more, you can use Replay Media Splitter. It allows you to make precise cuts on video and audio files and export one or more segments as a single file or export them separately.

Replay Media Splitter works on Windows XP, Vista, Win 7 and Win 8. You can use it free of charge, with a few limitations. Downloading the software's setup file takes less than a minute and you can install its core components just as fast.

The user interface consists of a media player, options for importing and exporting media files, as well as a series of tools for cutting videos and music. Once you load a media file, a waveform or video timeline will appear beneath the media player. You can start cutting one or more segments by placing markers at their start and end positions, on the timeline.

The markers can be dragged left and right, to make the sliced segments longer or shorter. Alternatively, you can type the exact start and end times, below the timeline, for pinpoint accuracy. Sliced segments can be selected and you may click different options to keep or discard them. After deciding what segments to keep, you just need to hit the Trim button, in the lower right corner of the interface and specify the media file's output path, name and format.

Selected slices will be saved in the same media file, even if they are not consecutive. It is also possible to export specific segments as separate media files or to export all segments as separate files, in a single run. In terms of media formats, you can import any popular video or audio files and export them in WMV, WMA and MP3 format.

Pros

You can extract several segments from a video or song and save them as a single file or save them separately. The software makes it easy to cut media files and it places everything you need at your disposal to make precise cuts.

Cons

While in demo mode, the software will save a maximum of 90 seconds from your output files. With Replay Media Splitter, you can accurately trim music and videos, in any popular format, without any kind of difficulties.
